SHOES, the one word that can stop a woman in her tracks!
Shoes are one of the most important things to think about when you’re getting
married. While they have to be totally fabulous they still need to comfortable.
You will spend most of the day on your feet and they last thing you want is to
have blisters by the time you get to the reception. So buy your shoes as early
as you can so you have time to break them in. You will need them for your
alterations anyway. So I give you permission to go shoe shopping (like you need
permission, shoe shopping is in every girls DNA)
The usual colours for wedding shoes are white or ivory but
these days it doesn’t really matter what colour you go for. Many brides use their
shoes to show off a bit of their personality. Bright colours are in and you can
even wear blue shoes for your something blue! The options are endless. So be
creative and think outside the box!!
A little tip, if you’re doing an all day shopping trip don’t
buy your shoes at the end of the day. Your feet might be a bit swollen and
could end up getting shoes that will be too big for your feet. If you have
child size feet like me, go to a shoe store that specialises in wedding shoes.
They may be a bit more expensive but trust me, shoes are not something you want
to skimp on!! Like I have said before, take someone with you. Shopping is
always better with a buddy and it’s always helpful to get someone else’s
opinion. The sales assistants will help you I’m sure, but don’t forget they are
there to make money!
I couldn’t write this post without mentioning our gal pal Cinderella, forced into being a servant by her sweet step sisters, this lady had a plan to go from rags to riches. After losing a shoe (on purpose I’m sure) it was found and returned by prince charming and they lived happily ever after.blah blah blah. These days things don’t go down quite like that so one last tip...make sure you get the right size shoes. A no brainer I know but it happens and for god’s sake, don’t leave them lying around. People aren’t as honest as our old mate price charming!
